When I lived in East Texas in the mid-1990s, there was a Christian bookstore that promoted the bands with signs that said "If you like AC/DC and Ozzy, then try..." There was never a sign for "If you like Springsteen," so I assumed that the Baptists, like God, accepted him as one of their own.
