We all feel this way sometimes, maybe a lot of the time. I’d say don’t let it get you down, but some of the best writing comes from the down times. I can say this with absolute certainty: the very worst day staring at a blank page is light-years better than the very best day I ever had in retail. The novel will come; I didn’t finish my first (never published) until I was 40 and didn’t publish one until I was 48.

Just keep at it…you’ve written some great stories. Give some thought to putting out an anthology, and don’t get hung up on the “too long for flash, too short for short story" thing. Readers don’t give a damn about that; we’re the ones who get hung up on it.
