Throwback Thursday: The Candy Man and the Teacher
A short story
By now, you should know that my Throwback Thursday feature is a lot like Michael Myers from the Halloween series: every time you think it’s dead, it pops back up again. Call me stubborn, but I simply refuse to give up on some of my favorite stories that had the misfortune of being published when roughly ten people were following me here.
As I said in last week’s installment, because it’s October I am highlighting a short story that, unlike most of what I write, falls into the horror genre to at least some degree (this one far more than others). Some of you have read it already, but just like you’ll watch A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Exorcist again this month, there’s no reason not to read it again. You’ve probably forgotten it anyway in the three years since it first appeared; I had forgotten about it, and I wrote the damn thing.
So even if you have read it, and definitely if you haven’t, by all means please click on the link below.
As a side note, be sure to head over to the Fictions publication and check out the fine stories that have been submitted for this Halloween season and to the Fanfare publication for the entries in this month’s prompt, “The Book or Short Story That Terrified Me Most.” You’ll be scared, but you won’t be sorry.
