Yesterday I wrote a story about my ongoing struggle to avoid simply creating “content” and write what I know I’m supposed to be writing (you can read that one here). Normally, I would write a reflective piece like that with every intention of following through, get distracted by something that enrages me, write a rant, and fall back into the same old rut for months or years without even realizing it. Not today.

In a rare bit of serendipity, both God and the writing gods have arranged the calendar such that the very day after that most recent wake-up call to myself happens to be a Thursday. I am fully aware that the Throwback Thursday thing rarely drives any traffic to an older story in the way it’s intended to, partly because many reading it have already read the older story and partly because people hate clicking on links. I have found a way to remedy both of those issues.

Rather than simply linking to the older piece on a saint you need to know, I have included a few highlights from the story as an encouragement to click on the link; it can also serve as a refresher for those who have already read it. First, the link to the original story.
