Three Legendary Lunatics I’d Love to Have a Beer With

A different take on an excellent prompt

Back in January, noted Springsteen fan Mark Holburn issued one of the best prompts I’ve seen during my time here: “Dinner for Three: What 3 VIP Guests Would You Have for Dinner?” Once I realized that it wasn’t encouraging cannibalism, I wracked my brain for the three people (one living, one dead, and one fictional) I would most like to sit down to dinner with. You can read my choices below (one surprised even me):

Over the six months that have passed since that prompt, the question has forced its way into my brain at random times, though I never could understand why. I was perfectly happy with my three choices, so it’s not a case of writer’s remorse, yet it kept popping up at odd moments. It vexed me.
