You may not have noticed from my articles, but I have a slight fondness for Bruce Springsteen. I am also at a point in life where many of my childhood goals are now frankly unattainable. For example, at 56 and with the vertical leap of a roll of carpet I acknowledge that I will never play center for the Los Angeles Lakers, nor will I likely ever become king of a small Eastern European country.
