“Sensible” and “gun laws” are terms you will rarely see put together here in the U.S. One problem (that I did not mention) is that nearly no one running for office ever loses while claiming to support the right to bear arms, but plenty of them have lost supporting gun control. Between the NRA and politicians who only care about remaining in office, it is a near-impossible task.
