My Love/Hate Relationship With an Old Monday Playlist
It’s a double-edged sword
Back at the beginning of May, when I had only been on this site for about a month, I wrote an article with the cumbersome title “Ten Awesome Songs About Monday That Don’t Suck Like Monday Sucks.” I wrote it mainly for all the wage-slaves with the same long commute I endured for so many decades, trying to brighten what is otherwise always the worst day of the week. I didn’t expect much of a response, given that I only had a handful of followers, was new on the site, and was not writing about how to get rich by writing about how to get rich. The results were about what I expected for the first two months, but at the end of July it got hot. Out of nowhere, the views jumped significantly, which I loved. What I didn’t love so much (the “hate” part of the title) is that 95% of the reads were from non-members. It’s nice to be read, but some of the shine comes off when you’re read but not paid.
