Monday Rewind: Ten Awesome Songs About Monday That Don’t Suck Like Monday Sucks
The story that just keeps on giving, once a week
Almost a year ago (May 3, 2021 to be exact), back when I was still but a newbie on this site, I penned a music piece with the God-awful but decently scoring headline “Ten Awesome Songs About Monday That Don’t Suck Like Monday Sucks.” I had little hope for it; with maybe 150 followers at the time and lacking any mention of the one and only Bruce Springsteen, the story (predictably) went nowhere. I promptly forgot about it and started writing more about Bruce.
On July 26th, nearly three months after its publication and not coincidentally a Monday, the concepts of “evergreen” and “no story is ever dead” finally proved themselves to me. The numbers shot up like a rocket, filling me with dreams of fame and fortune.
Silly, stupid Paulie.
In addition to “evergreen,” this was my first experience with the dreaded “external non-member views.” It seems that the article had gotten into Google’s algorithmic wheelhouse, where it stubbornly remains today; I knew it was Monday not by my calendar but by the spike in stats, because now it happens every stinking Monday. It’s not that I’m not grateful for the 7.8k readers who have seen it thus far, I just wish 97% of them…
