We’ve reached the end of another month (and good riddance to summer here in Texas), which means it’s time for the monthly roundup of some of my favorite stories from the past 30-ish days. It seems like the algorithm has gotten marginally better at showing me the stories of the writers I follow, but some still fall through the cracks, and I’m sure that’s the case for you as well.

Unlike previous editions, I will refrain from a rambling introduction this time; let’s just get to the good stuff.
