Great piece. I haven’t experienced any toxicity among the Marvel fans I know (yet), but the Star Wars fandom gives the Yugoslav wars of the 1990s a run for their money. It’s not just the split between the Original/Prequel/Sequel Trilogy tribes either (which does tend to be generational).The venom within the Sequel conversation is sometimes alarming on its own.
