The newest crop of nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was just released, and as always there are some serious head-scratchers among them. I love Willie Nelson, but is he really what anyone would consider rock and roll? But it’s not artists like Willie getting in that bothers me; it’s the bands that are still on the outside looking in.

According to the Hall’s official rules, an artist or band becomes eligible for nomination once 25 years have passed since they released their first commercial recording. It took criminally longer than this for Rush, Judas Priest, and KISS (among many others) to make it into the Hall.

Among this year’s nominees is a band that should have been in years ago; we start with them for this week’s “The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Sucks” edition of Rate-A-Record, along with three more who have been inexplicably slighted over the years.
