Excellent piece! I used to think the only time it was crucial to stick with the "original" race/ethnicity in a role was with historical figures. Then I saw Christopher Jackson play George Washington in Hamilton. Now when I think of Washington, I think of him, not the wrinkled old white dude on the one-dollar bill. Jackson is so much cooler.
