Excellent article. I have to admit I have only watched a few silent films, but not because I dismiss them. The foreign film avoiders frustrate me most of all. People should be watching the myriad excellent foreign films rather than an inevitably horrible American remake (see La Femme Nikita vs. Point of No Return).
