A Year of Bruce: A Look Back at My 2021 Springsteen Stories

That’s the year, not the number of articles I wrote

In case you didn’t know this about me, I am a Springsteen fan. Since I started writing on this site nine months ago, the great man has played a huge part in many of the stories I’ve written, but as we reach the end of the year I found myself wondering just how huge that part really was. It’s true that I find a way to work him into non-musical pieces ranging from politics to Marvel to the occasional rant, but exactly how many articles did I write that were specifically about him or the E Street Band?

The answer surprised me: out of nearly 400 articles, there are only 30 that are completely Bruce-centric. That’s less than 10%, and I am ashamed it’s that low. On the plus side, the total number of views for those articles stands at 34.6K as of this writing, so at least the word is going forth. My goal for 2022 is that this number increase tenfold, but just like the original Gospel, my gospel of Bruce will start small and grow exponentially.

There are a few highlights I want to share from the past year, but first a bit of necessary housekeeping smack in the middle of the article, where it will hopefully be seen by those who need to see it. I have written before that over the past few months, any Springsteen piece…
