A spot-on, thought provoking piece. Having spent decades as both an evangelical and a Catholic (while always remaining part of the Church of Bruce), I have seen widely divergent views on this within the church. Like most other things, what was considered a “bad" horror film often came down to the personal preference of the pastor, with whatever theological gymnastics were necessary to support that view.
