There I was, minding my own business watching YouTube videos debating the pros and cons of the Traditional Latin Mass as “research” for an upcoming article when I received a notification that Buddy Gott had tagged me in a story. I knew without even looking that the King of Music Prompts had derailed my plans for the night, as he has been doing for three years now. I resigned myself to putting off the answer to whether the priest facing away from the congregation (ad orientem or “to the east”) during Mass was really all that important until at least Saturday while I slogged away on Buddy’s prompt.
After reading the article and seeing the prompt, however, I was almost giddy: Name a perfect album from each decade of your life. He took the prompt from a series of musical questions that are apparently making the rounds on Twitter (I will call the damn thing “X” at the same time I call the Washington Redskins the Commanders, which is three weeks from never). He had presented me with something I could do in my sleep; at least four of the seven decades I have been alive for have perfect Springsteen albums.
